专利说明:
Luggage carrier for a bicycle and method for manufacturing such luggage carrier This invention relates on the one hand to a hollow plastic luggage carrier for a bicycle and on the other hand to a method for manufacturing such a luggage carrier. This invention relates in particular to a plastic luggage carrier for a bicycle. In order to be able to place luggage on the rear of bicycles, etc., bicycles are provided with a luggage carrier at the rear, preferably above the rear wheel. / " A known embodiment of luggage carriers is a metal wire or tube structure. However, such luggage carriers have several disadvantages: are limited in design; high weight with larger pipe diameters; no integration of functions, such as pump hooks, holder for reflector, ... possible; the different parts must be welded together, which is labor intensive; must undergo a surface treatment such as, for example, lacquering, chrome plating, anodizing, .... Luggage carriers can also be made via aluminum high-pressure casting. Although it is possible with this technique to integrate different functions on the luggage carrier, such luggage carriers still have several disadvantages: are expensive to produce; - greater weight with larger diameters; the luggage carrier must afterwards undergo a further treatment, eg painting, anodizing, ...; - limited in design options. Luggage carriers are also known from the patent literature, for example, European patent publication EP 0 933 290 describes a luggage carrier with an open rib structure provided with a storage space in which, for example, a bicycle pump and the like can be stored. The aforementioned storage space can be closed via a plate. The German patent publication DE 38 31 842 describes a luggage carrier comprising a plastic container for storing various objects, which is provided between metal supports. The container can be opened and / or closed by means of a hinge. In view of the trend towards bicycle frames with an increasingly larger tube diameter, the luggage carriers must also have an increasing volume. In addition to the functionality, with a luggage carrier, design is also becoming increasingly important. There is also a noticeable trend towards lower weight of bicycles and bicycle parts. Finally, there is increasing pressure on the cost price, which increases the need to limit labor-intensive operations. The object of the invention is to provide a light luggage carrier with a certain volume for a bicycle, with virtually unlimited design possibilities, whereby various functions can be integrated on the luggage carrier. The object of the invention is achieved by providing a hollow plastic luggage carrier for a bicycle, in particular a bicycle, wherein it comprises a hollow interior which is not accessible under normal conditions of use. The hollow structure ensures a sturdy and stable luggage carrier with low weight and yet a large volume. Normal usage conditions in this patent application are understood to mean the circumstances in which the luggage carrier is normally used. The luggage carrier is preferably made from fiber-reinforced or non-fiber-reinforced Polypropylene (PP), Acrylic Butadiene Styrene (ABS), Polyamide (PA), .... In a preferred embodiment of the luggage carrier according to the invention, the ratio of the solid volume to the total volume of the cross-section of the hollow interior of the luggage carrier is between 0.25 and 0.55. In a more special embodiment of the luggage carrier according to the invention, the luggage carrier is manufactured by means of injection molding, casting, rotational molding, extrusion, pressing and / or thermoforming, whereby the luggage carrier comprises a hollow inner space. Injection molding is a discontinuous process in which products are formed by injecting molten material into a mold under high pressure. The following methods are also considered as an injection molding process: water and gas injection, two parts injection molding (where the parts are connected to each other or not by spraying) and injection molding whereby the hollow interior is created with sliding cores in the mold. Extrusion is a continuous process in which thermoplastic plastics are manufactured. The granulate enters a heated cylinder via a funnel, so that the granulate slowly becomes more fluid. The rotating screw in the cylinder pushes the plasticised plastic forward and ensures that the material flows through an opening in the extruder nozzle (extrusion die). The following methods are also considered as an extrusion process: co-extrusion and extrusion blowing. With extrusion blowing, the hot molten plastic that comes out of the nozzle in the form of a tube is squeezed shut between two half-molds. The tube is then blown against the mold wall with, for example, compressed air. This results in objects with a hollow core. In a preferred embodiment of the luggage carrier according to the invention, the said luggage carrier is designed in one piece, so that great stability is achieved and no additional processing is required. During manufacture, the facilities for the various functions such as pump hooks, holder for reflector, lighting, etc. can be integrated on the luggage rack. The techniques used to manufacture one-piece luggage carriers are: extrusion blowing, gas or water injection, injection molding whereby the hollow core is obtained by sliding. In a more special embodiment of the luggage carrier according to the invention, the said luggage carrier is made up of at least two parts, said parts being provided for being fixedly connected to each other. The individual parts are preferably connected to each other via a screw, weld, glue or click connection. Two-piece luggage carriers are made by injection molding or thermoforming. . . In another embodiment of the luggage carrier according to the invention, the luggage carrier comprises one or more integrated components such as preferably pump hooks, a holder for reflector or light; a mudguard or mudguard part. More specifically, at least one of the aforementioned components is movable. For example, a folding spring can be integrated on the luggage carrier. Another subject of this patent application is a method for manufacturing a hollow plastic luggage carrier for a bicycle wherein the luggage carrier is manufactured by one of the techniques selected from injection molding, casting, rotational molding, extrusion, pressing and / or thermoforming to form a luggage carrier with to obtain a hollow interior not accessible under normal conditions of use. This method has the advantage that in comparison with the existing luggage carrier, the number of operations to obtain a luggage carrier has fallen sharply. This makes it possible to produce at a very favorable price. In order to further clarify the properties of this invention and to indicate additional advantages and details thereof, a more detailed description of the method used and of a luggage carrier manufactured according to this method is now given. It is clear that nothing in the following description can be interpreted as a limitation of the protection claimed for the invention in the claims. In this description reference is made to the accompanying drawings by reference numerals, in which: figure 1 is a view of a one-piece luggage carrier; Figure 2 is a representation of a two-piece luggage carrier; The luggage carrier (1) according to the invention and as represented in figures 1 and 2, comprises a hollow interior which is not accessible under normal conditions of use. The luggage carrier according to this invention is made of plastic by means of injection molding, casting, rotational molding, extrusion, pressing and / or thermoforming. Such luggage carriers (1) are on the one hand lightweight and on the other hand still have a large volume. Depending on the processing technique used and the material used, the luggage carrier (1) is made in one piece or from at least two parts. Materials used for the manufacture of the luggage carrier (1) according to the invention are: fiber-reinforced polypropylene (PP), acrylic butadiene styrene (ABS), polyamide (PA), etc. One-piece luggage carriers (1) (represented in Figure 1) are manufactured via blow extrusion, injection molding or injection molding with gas or water injection. With blow extrusion, a "stocking" is extruded, which after filling into and closing the mold is filled with air. This places the stocking against the wall of the mold and retains that shape after cooling. With gas or water injection, when the mold, depending on the technique used, is fully or partially filled, water or gas (usually nitrogen) is injected into the mold. The gas or water pushes the melted plastic away. The plastic then cools against the cold wall of the mold. Two-piece luggage carriers (1) (represented in Figure 2) are manufactured via two parts of spit-holes or two parts of thermoforming. The individual parts are preferably fixedly connected to each other via a screw, weld (e.g. ultrasonic welding or mirror welding), glue or click connection, whereby the individual parts are immovable with respect to each other. Another possibility is that the two parts are connected to each other in a second injection molding cycle. The luggage carrier (1) according to the invention has the great advantage that during manufacture, the provisions for the various functions such as, for example, pump hooks, holder for reflector, lighting, mudguard or mudguard parts etc. can be integrated on the luggage carrier (1). In addition, the possibilities regarding shape, design, etc ... are virtually unlimited. The hollow structure also ensures a sturdy and stable luggage carrier with low weight. With two-part luggage carriers (1), it is also possible to include certain functional parts, such as, for example, a folding spring when the two parts are joined together. The luggage carrier is attached to the bicycle via a preferably metal or plastic carrier structure (2). If the carrier structure is made of plastic, it can be integrated at once so that the luggage carrier according to the invention comprises a bearing surface with support.
